Tomorrow, January 10th, first train will pass through Mehrabad Line of Tehran Metro. According to Public Relations of Tehran Urban &Suburban Railway Operation Co., by finishing tunnel construction and installation of electrical equipment, this line with 2 kilometer length and 4 stations is ready for technical tests. These tests, as part of the safety checks required before opening the line to public, will be done tomorrow with the presence of Tehran Urban &Suburban Railway Operation Co & Municipal authorities.
Mehrabad Line is the most different subway of Tehran with 2 kilometer length and 4 stations which is connected to line 4 of Tehran Metro by Bimeh station. Boland Payeh Co. is EPC contractor of stations 1,2,3 and Bime station and Tarho Tose Bolandpayeh Co .is Engineering services first, second and third stages.
This Line has a unique seating design compared to other lines, and will utilize driverless trains. It’s anticipated that 40000 passengers will be transported by this line per day.
Regarding that Tehran subway was linked to Tehran Railway by Line 3 (which is mostly constructed by Boland Payeh Co.), now with opening Mehrabad Line to public, Tehran Metro is connected to both Air and Land Transportation Networks of Tehran.
